Desislava Pindikova, Second Soprano: "Applause is the greatest satisfaction"

Desislava Pindikova sings second soprano in "Morski Zvutsi". In an interview with Ralitsa Staneva she tells how she moved from a rock band to the choir, what she does when she is not singing, her favourite song, how she copes with tears at concerts, and what applause means to her.

She sang in a rock band, but there everything was a joke. "I wanted to do something more serious, and then I heard about 'Morski Zvutsi'." Working with sheet music and the higher level gave her joy and showed her that the choir was her place.

She remembers her first rehearsal well. The maestro sang her at the piano and said: "Beautiful voice." He placed her in the sopranos right away. At the time they were learning Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, and she did not yet read music well, so at first she was shocked. "But then, as I got to know the people and felt the music, everything became perfect."

Outside the choir Desislava loves photography, small details and nature. On her way to and from work she takes photos, and she recharges among nature through them. She also loves animals and everything connected to nature, and she tries to protect it.

Tears at concerts happen to her quite often, especially with the stronger pieces. To keep control, she looks at the score and the conductor, takes a breath and focuses on her breathing.

"It is the greatest satisfaction. It means people felt our music and our connection with the audience."

How does she imagine "Morski Zvutsi" in five years? On the world stage.
