Mimi Dimova
Vocal coach · 1958–1992
The voice teacher Mimi Dimova joined the choir in 1958 and worked with it for 34 years, until 1992. She trained singers individually and presented her pupils every year in concerts of the vocal studio; at the Third National Festival (1969) her students Radka Andreeva and Dimka Dyulgerova won gold and bronze medals.
She sat on the panel that chose the singers for the Gorizia competition (1972), and the critics gave her a share of the credit for the triumphant Requiem in the Bulgaria Hall. In 1978 she stepped down as salaried artistic director but stayed on as a part-time voice teacher, and in 1979 she received the Order of St Kliment Ohridski for her long years of teaching.
