Janeta Benun

Zhaneta Benun-Nikolaeva was born in Ruse. She graduated from the music high school in her hometown in the piano class of Khachik Mihranyan and the Sofia Conservatory under Prof. Lili Atanasova in 1974. The same year she became a laureate of the National Competition "St. Obretenov" - Provadia. She works as a piano teacher at the Music High School - Ruse. She has a number of prominent students - laureates of national and international competitions. Pianist and choirmaster of the Mixed Choir "Danube Sounds" - Ruse (1978-1988) and Mixed Choir "Lidia Dushek" - Varna (1995-2005), Mixed Choir "Sea Sounds" - Varna (since 2009). The three choirs are winners of a number of awards at Bulgarian and international competitions. Since 1988 she has been a pianist-accompanist at the Varna Opera. Janeta Benun has participated as an accompanist and teacher of musical interpretation in the vocal master classes of Prof. Margarita Lilova, Kaludi Kaludov, Ventsi Katsarov, etc., and has been an accompanist at the Varna Opera for years. She actively participates in the concert life of Varna, Ruse, Sofia, in the festivals Varna Summer, European Music Festival, March Music Days, Slavic Embrace. She has given concerts in Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, Greece, the Netherlands, etc.
